January 15th



Karcher Character Students of the Week
Every week five students will be chosen by our staff for "Karcher Character Student of the Week".  One student from every house (Onyx, Diamond, Hive, & Silver) along with one from the applied academic courses.  The 6th student is chosen from the Karcher Character Bucks students receive throughout the week.  All 6 of these students displayed positive character behaviors within our 8 focused traits:  

Be... responsible, respectful, kind, safe, honest, loyal, compassionate, courageous.  

Student's of the week for 
January 11th - January 15th
  • Mason McIntrye (Hive) - Mason was extremely responsible and kind at Outdoor Education as he often helped clan mates and assisted in clean up on his own accord.
  • Hannah Viol (Onyx) - Hannah displays many attributes of "The Karcher Way" on a consistent basis.  She displays kindness and compassion towards others and consistently makes her school work a priority and puts 100% effort into it.
  • Hannah McMartin (Diamond) - Hannah is a quiet leader in her classes.  She leads by example and works very hard.
  • Robyn Shuemate (Applied Academics) - Robyn is a true example of "The Karcher Way"!  She works hard and is always considerate of others.  She always leads by example!
  • Payton Kretschmer (Silver) - Payton is our student of the week for shooting character in the way she carries herself and how she interacts with everyone!
  • Frankie Giaimo (Karcher Bucks) - Frankie truly cares about his classmates and will assist with ensuring they understand the content.  He really cares about his academic progress as well!

Reminders/Information

  • FNL (Friday Night Live) is happening January 15th  from 6:00 - 8:00pm.
    • For admittance students can pay with 4 KCBs, 2 dollars, or 4 canned goods.
    • Please pick up on Wainwright Street at 8:00pm.
  • January 20th is Hat Day at Karcher.  Students can use 2 KCBs to wear a hat throughout the school day. 
  • January 21st and 22nd we will holding character assemblies during iTime on both days (7th grade - January 21st, 8th grade January 22nd)
    • These assemblies are to recognize students for their positive character traits.  Each teacher will present an award to two students on stage.  Students recognized will receive a certificate and a short verbal explanation for their excellence.  
  • January 26th is the end of first semester.  
  • January 27th - No School for students.
  • February 4th - Strings Winter Concert @ 7:30pm @ BHS Auditorium
  • Girls volleyball starts Tuesday, January 19th.
    • Tryouts will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday:
      • 8th grade:  2:30 - 4:30
      • 7th grade:  4:30 - 6:00
    • Practice schedules will be handed out on Thursday, January  21st for the rest of the season.

  • Intramural volleyball will start January 29th from 2:30 - 4:00. 
    • This is open for any girls that did not make the traveling teams (this will be determined after tryouts) and/or other girls interested in playing volleyball.  
    • All girls must have a updated physical on file to play.

  • If you are still interested in purchasing a yearbook the cost is 22 dollars and this year the book is in full color!

  • Scheduling for the 2016-2017 school year will begin the first week of February for all of our students.  
    • 8th grade Open House at the High School is on February 8th from 5:30 - 7:25pm.
